Sales and Operations Manager

Job Summary

Signs + Banners is distributor of vinyl, heat transfer product, digital media, inks, printers, sign frames, banners, and tools to businesses, sign makers, and professional and home crafters via web, catalog, and phone marketing. The sales and operations manager is a new role for Signs + Banners and we're looking for someone who can help drive our success, oversee daily operations, lead the inside sales team, and further the develop the business through outside sales efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs selling techniques on inbound and outbound calls.
  • Prospecting larger volume customers by phone and provides planned visits to increase new customer growth, along with enhancing sales growth to existing customers.
  • Participates with Supervisor in:
  • Establishing meaningful goals and policy guidelines pertaining to Signs + Banner Sales.
  • Developing effective sales plans and programs to achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Developing effective plans for sales tracking, margin analysis and inventory control. * Identifies customer needs and provides knowledgeable assistance to help customers select the correct product to serve their needs.
  • Take appropriate steps, based on company’s current guidelines and procedures, to properly set up customers by completing applications, assuring that credit procedures are carried through and customers receive appropriate sales materials / training aids.
  • Cold calls to pre-selected businesses to sale Company products
  • Assist with sales program development, special promotions and financing options.
  • Completes reports, call logs and inventory tracking.
  • Supports internal staff with bad debt accounts, reviews and understands customer history takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Coordinates and implements strategies and activities to maximize sales, margin, and inventory turnover.
  • Responsible for overseeing daily operations of the department. Supervises and coordinates business operations and personnel. Keeps Inside Sales staff informed of new sales procedures, prices, company policies and other significant information.
  • Ensures that all customers are assisted in a professional, courteous, reliable, attentive, honest and responsible manner. Assists customers as needed.
  • Supervises and monitors the inbound/outbound performance metrics of inside sales staff.
  • Provides training and follow up to ensure performance meets and/or exceeds established standards.
  • Recommends pricing based on margin requirements and competitive positioning. Sets pricing in system and coordinates pricing with Purchasing and Department Manager. Maintains pricing/margins that reflects company goals for margin, profitability and sales.
  • Works on assigned projects for sales development and assists in business operations as needed.
  • Handles customer complaints and assists with the escalation process.
  • Collaborates with Purchase department on inventory needs and product issues/opportunities.
  • Monitors and ensures proper administration of websites
  • Develop and implement contests/motivational ideas within sales team.
  • Meets with customers and prospective customers to demonstrate company’s products.
  • Conducts interviewing and ensures training for department personnel. Full-time and temporary.
  • Reviews staff annually. Assists staff with setting and attaining job related goals.
  • Researches new product. Follows strategic goals in adding product that will enhance / strengthen company’s competitive positioning.
  • Participates with Supervisor in establishing meaningful goals and policy guidelines pertaining to sales and operations.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications and Experience:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years sales experience.
  • 1-2 or more years of related management experience.
  • Knowledge of business to business sales process.
  • Outgoing, Professional demeanor.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Solid PC skills, spreadsheet development abilities and working knowledge of designated software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to fluently speak, read and write English.
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred

  • Experience in small company environment.
  • Sales experience in the graphic supply industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration and/or marketing.

Inside Sales Representative

Job Summary

We're seeking an inside sales representative to assist current and potential customers with product selection and ordering.

Essential Functions:

  • Makes outbound lead follow up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
  • Answers inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Provides product demos to qualified customers on request.
  • Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
  • Enters customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications and Experience:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year related experience and/or training.
  • 1 year or more of sales and/or customer service experience
  • Speak, write, and read English.

Preferred

  • 1 year or more of customer service experience
  • 1 year or more of inside sales experience
  • Sign supply or print industry experience
  • E-commerce experience
